Touching Others Lives

October 24, 2011

So, recently I was able to help give a blessing at a members house (she's going through chemo) and amazingly she told us that she saw the Saviors' hands resting on ours during the blessing. It was a touching moment for all of us. She has been an amazing help as well to the work and feeding us! She owns a preschool and by law, she must have a certain amount of food to provide to the students weekly, so by the end of the week she gets a batch of new supplies. And, well, the leftovers have to go somewhere!  =D  We get 12 gallons of milk a week along with whatever snacks we desire. Sometimes she even has enough to give us a good meal! It's been great!
Two weeks ago we went into an investigators house (we think of each other as family; she sees us as an answer to her prayers) and so while we were joking and shooting the breeze, one of my companions sneezes, but as he tried to catch the spray, a huge snot rocket flew out and landed in the middle of the floor! He said "Oh, crap. That shouldn't have happened. I'm really sorry" and the whole room busted out in laughter, and all of us were rolling on the floor! the way he said it was just so funny, we couldn't help but die laughing, it was great! She says that it is such a miracle that we bring so much laughter and happiness into their home! Their names are Marcella, Jacob, Andre, and Adrianna.
I had a cool chance to catch and hold a gecko the other day. If ever I can get one as a pet when I get a place of my own. I think I'll name him Geico.
Sunday was a bit interesting too. Elder Sims had a chance to show off his piano skills and the Ward loved it! He memorized the entire piece (and composed his own parts of it) and the Ward immediately fell in love. The Relief Society even asked him to play in there when he had the chance. So we spent a good chunk of Elders Quorum meeting, instead with the Relief Society. You can imagine the beads of sweat forming a puddle under my seat. Talk about awkward!
